So one of the songs off the album I’m working on is called “Everything Burns.” The melody and structure for it came to me in the middle of the night and kept me awake for hours and then tried to do a runner in the morning, so I did a quick rough of the verse/chorus
So I’ve modified my usual synth patch to not reset the attack envelope on keychances and added a little bit of portamento to give a rather nice sliding effect. Here’s a little tune to demonstrate what I’m talking about. The chord progression is based on a song called Private Lessons by Kevin O’Neill, Peter Ward

There’s a strangely beautiful poetry in the BBC’s shipping forecast. I reckoned it needed some music. There’s two versions here – the first has some electronic treatment on the voice and some listeners have found it doesn’t sound quite right. The second version has a simple reverb applied.
